The outside diameter of 1-1/4" pipe is 1.66" (approx 1-21/32") and this tap will be about the same size.

in mild steel, alloy steel, light gage stainless, other metals such as or plastic.
Notice- If you have not worked with NPT or IP size pipe or fittings before, be aware that 1-1/4" pipe does NOT measure 1-1/4"!! You can NOT measure your pipe or fittings with a tape measure and get the right size tap or die!
Pipe sizes do not refer to any physical dimensions. The outside diameter of a pipe or fitting must be measured and compared to a sizing chart for size
