DESCRIPTION: Every ten years, the little town of Oberammergau puts on its world-famous Passion Plan.  This reenactment of the crucifixion of Christ has a 400-year-old history within Germany – it began in 1633 in the face of the “Black Death” facing the region.  The townspeople made a promise to God to put on this play ever 10 years if they would be spared.  Pilgrimages from all over Europe arrive to the town and space, housing, etc. are extremely limited.  This play was originally slated for 2020, but the pandemic derailed the effort, and it was rescheduled to 2022.
