Weltron 2001 8 Track Player AM/FM Stereo. Space Ball, Space Helmet Vintage 1970's. Overall in good condition. The plastic face has quite a bit of superficial scratching, and a few light scratches, but looks good overall. The white plastic case has yellowed with age, and has light scratches and scuffing but nothing serious. I believe the cover for the battery compartment is slightly warped, it doesnt fit perfectly flush with the rest of the unit. However it latches securely. See picture. Power cord is yellowed with age, but is not frayed or damaged. There is some pitting of the chrome ring around the face on the lower part, as seen in picture. The rubber suction foot works great. The battery compartment is clean with no damage. I don't know if it works on battery power. The right speaker does not work as loudly as the left, I believe it may be an issue with the balance control. If you move the balance control all the way to the r position, no sound comes out of the right speaker at all. When you move it into the center position, sound comes out of the right speaker, maybe 30% of the volume of the left speaker. When using headphones, both channels work normally. AM and FM bands work. There is no antenna. FM reception would be much better with one. A length of wire will work in a pinch. I do not know if the tape player works, as I have no tapes to test it. When the selector is moved to the tape position the light for program one comes on. Given its age I suspect the tape player needs service. Condition is "Used".
